Nearly 42,000 candidates only take the exam to graduate from high school

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, comrade Pham Ngoc Thuong, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Head of the National Steering Committee for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, affirmed that up to this point, localities have proactively and actively prepared for the exam.

The Deputy Minister of Education and Training suggested that in the coming time, the National and Provincial Steering Committees for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam need to seriously and fully grasp the instructions of the central and provincial governments on organizing the exam. Localities need to review and carefully prepare each stage and step, strictly implement the exam procedures and regulations. Special attention should be paid to ensuring issues of security and safety of exam supervision and grading; food safety and hygiene, electricity and water, and fire prevention.

The Deputy Minister of Education and Training noted that candidates should absolutely not bring phones or information technology devices into the examination room; should not rely on existing experiences to be subjective or negligent in organizing the examination; should not let candidates with economic difficulties or traffic difficulties be absent from the examination. Localities need to calculate and anticipate arising situations to have contingency plans and handle them promptly. At the same time, they are determined to organize the examination safely, seriously, in accordance with regulations, with quality, efficiency, and thoughtfulness, all for the students...

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the 2024 high school graduation exam will be held on June 26, 27, 28, and 29, 2024. This year, a total of 1,071,393 candidates registered to take the exam (an increase of 47,330 compared to 2023), of which 41,696 students took the exam only for graduation, accounting for more than 3.86%.

In Hai Duong, the Provincial Steering Committee for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam has issued directives and instructions; preparations for the exam are being urgently implemented according to the set plan. High schools are also urgently completing review work as well as preparing conditions for the exam.

In 2024, Hai Duong has 23,557 candidates registered for the exam, an increase of 1,600 students. There are 23,319 candidates registered for the math exam; 23,244 candidates for the literature exam; 16,275 candidates for the social sciences exam; 6,782 candidates for the natural sciences exam; 18,791 candidates for the foreign language exam. The Provincial Steering Committee for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam has established 45 exam sites (an increase of 3 sites compared to 2023) with 1,002 exam rooms; mobilized about 3,654 officials for exam supervision, police, medical staff and some other forces to serve the exam.

Candidates studying grade 12 of the high school program this year will take 4 exams to graduate including math, literature, foreign language and 1 of 2 combined exams: social science and natural science. Candidates studying the regular education program will take 3 compulsory exams including math, literature and 1 of 2 combined exams to graduate. Candidates studying the regular education program can register for a foreign language exam to apply for university admission if needed. This is also the last high school graduation exam according to the old general education program of 2006.

The exam marking period is from July 1 to July 13, at Ngoc Chau Secondary School (Hai Duong City). The exam results will be announced on July 17; graduation recognition will be completed before July 19; graduation recognition after review will be completed before August 9.
