In the match that ended at nearly 12 noon on September 11, the Hai Duong 1 men's team lost to the Vietnam national table tennis team with a score of 2-3.
With this result, Hai Duong 1 men's team won third place in the team event of the Con Son Cup International Table Tennis Tournament, along with Hanoi T&T men's team. Meanwhile, the Vietnam national men's team won the right to play in the men's team final, against Guangdong men's team (China) - the team that previously won 3-0 against Hanoi T&T men's team.
In the women's team event, the girls of Hai Duong 1 also ranked third after losing 0-3 to the national women's team, along with the players of the Ministry of Public Security. In the second semi-final, the women of the Ministry of Public Security lost 3-0 to Guangdong.
Thus, after the two semi-final matches, the Kunshan Cup International Table Tennis Tournament has determined the two final matches for the men's and women's teams between the Vietnam and Guangdong national table tennis teams.
The national team is a collection of the top male and female tennis players in Vietnam today, including: Nguyen Anh Tu, Dinh Anh Hoang, Tran Mai Ngoc, Nguyen Thi Nga... Coach Deng Zhixiong of Guangdong brought to Vietnam a very young squad, including 1 player born in 2009, 3 players born in 2007, 3 players born in 2006 and 2 players born in 2003, but with very high professional skills. These players just won 3rd place in the Chinese youth tournament. Therefore, the 2 final matches taking place at 7:30 p.m. at Hai Duong Sports Gymnasium promise to be very exciting.
By winning 2 third prizes, the Hai Duong 1 men's and Hai Duong 1 women's teams exceeded their set targets. Before the tournament, coach Cao Anh Tuan of Hai Duong said that the men's team only set a target of reaching the quarterfinals, while the women's team 1 did not set a target. The reason was that the main players of Hai Duong 1, Nguyen Duc Tuan and Bui Ngoc Lan, were still injured.
The tournament will take a break on the afternoon of September 11. On September 12, the men's and women's singles matches will take place.
