The Department of Information and Communications team won the championship cup of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association Table Tennis-Badminton Tournament for 3 consecutive years.

On August 23, the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association organized the 2024 Table Tennis-Badminton Championship Cup. This is an annual tournament organized by the association, towards the celebration of National Day September 2.

This year's tournament has 42 athletes, including 21 players in table tennis and the rest in badminton. The athletes are from the Journalists' Associations: Hai Duong Newspaper, Hai Duong Radio and Television Station, Department of Information and Communications and Senior Journalists' Club.

In table tennis, athletes compete in 4 events: men's team, men's doubles from 18-65 years old, men's singles from 46-65 years old, men's singles from 18-45 years old. In badminton, athletes compete in the following events: team, men's doubles, mixed doubles, men's singles.

At the end of the tournament, the Department of Information and Communications won the overall championship cup. This is the third consecutive year that the Department of Information and Communications has won the championship cup.

In table tennis, the Provincial Radio and Television Station team won first prize in the team event. The Department of Information and Communications won first prize in the men's doubles event; first prize in the men's singles event for the age group 18-45 (player Nguyen Duc Trung); first prize in the men's singles event for the age group 46-60 (player Mac Quoc Dong). The Hai Duong Newspaper team won second prize in the men's doubles event, third prize in the men's singles event for the age group 18-45, and third prize in the team event.

21 athletes participated in badminton competition

In badminton, the Department of Information and Communications team won first place in the team event and first place in the men's doubles event. First place in the mixed doubles event went to the Senior Journalists Club; first place in the men's singles event went to player Pham Trung Thanh (Hai Duong Radio and Television Station).

The organizing committee awarded first, second, third and consolation prizes to individuals with outstanding achievements in chess.

*On the same day, Nguyen Trai Retirement Club of Hai Duong City organized the 2024 Badminton and Chess Tournament for Wards and Communes. More than 100 people participated in the tournament. On August 23, the tournament featured chess and badminton. On August 28 and 29, Nguyen Trai Retirement Club continued to organize table tennis competitions.
