Veterans of the 246th Guard Regiment in Hai Duong-Hung Yen region meet

Meeting to celebrate the 46th anniversary of military service (June 20, 1978 - June 20, 2024) and the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Liaison Committee of the 246th Guard Regiment (June 30, 1991 - June 30, 2024).

Attending the meeting were Lieutenant General Vu Van Kieu, former Director of the Institute of Military Strategy of the Ministry of National Defense; leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Committee, veterans of Binh Giang District; leaders of the 246th Guard Regiment, leaders of the 246th Regiment Veterans Liaison Committee in Hanoi and veterans of the regiment in the two provinces of Hai Duong and Hung Yen.

The 246th Guard Regiment (Tan Trao Regiment) was established on June 30, 1948, with the mission of protecting the Party Central Committee, Uncle Ho and the Government's headquarters during the resistance war against France; protecting the 2nd National Party Congress (February 1951) in Tan Trao (Tuyen Quang). The regiment was also honored to be named Tan Trao Regiment by Uncle Ho.

The members of the regiment all have achievements in fighting to protect the northern border and were wounded 2/4 or 4/4. The liaison committee currently has 110 members, in the two provinces of Hai Duong and Hung Yen.

At the meeting, 16 veterans of the 246th Guard Regiment were awarded commemorative medals, 90 veterans were awarded membership certificates, 16 veterans and 1 martyr's relative were awarded certificates of gratitude from the Regimental Liaison Committee. The Liaison Committee also celebrated the longevity of 2 comrades.

Over the years, the Veterans Liaison Committee of the 246th Guard Regiment has done a good job of charity work, visiting sick and weak members, and participating in resolving the regime for 1 member. At the same time, it has organized well the activities of "remembering the source of drinking water" and humanitarian charity in the province and the localities where the regiment has operated.

In the coming time, the Liaison Committee will promote charitable activities, strengthen the organization of liaison committees, visit and connect members in localities in the two provinces of Hai Duong and Hung Yen.
