On the evening of April 3, thousands of military officers and soldiers from the parade and marching groups were mobilized to Hanoi station to depart for the South, preparing for the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification.
The Propaganda Department (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army) said that on April 3-4, more than 3,200 military officers, soldiers and militia forces will march on 5 trains.
Of these, 4 trains depart from Hanoi station and 1 train departs from Tam Ky station (Quang Nam), arriving at Bien Hoa station (Dong Nai). The trains will stop at Dong Hoi, Da Nang, Dieu Tri, and Nha Trang stations.
It is expected that on April 6, the delegations will arrive in Dong Nai. After that, the units will return to their units to continue practicing and training together.
Present early to see off the officers and soldiers were relatives, comrades and many students. Thousands of soldiers in uniform "covered" Hanoi station in green. The officers and soldiers boarded the train in joy.
In pride mixed with tears, relatives, friends, and lovers gave hugs and words of advice to the soldiers before they left for duty.
Senior Lieutenant Luong Thi Yen (female Information Officers) was happy because today her husband and children came to Hanoi station to see her off.
"I feel both happy and emotional because since Tet, I have only met my daughter in person. Both her father and mother are in the military, so even though she is young, she is very independent," Yen shared.
Before leaving, Ms. Yen could not help but feel reluctant, tightly holding her child's hands, and kindly telling her husband and child to stay home.
Major Nguyen Thi Mi (Vietnam's female peacekeepers) emotionally shared that when she saw her teammates saying goodbye to their families, she was about to cry because she had been away from home for several months.
"My unit is stationed in Hai Duong and has been mobilized to Hanoi to practice for the parade for the past 5 months. During Tet, I was given leave to visit my family and 2 weeks ago, my husband and children came to visit. For the next month, I will be far away from my family and miss my children, so I was very emotional when I got on the ship," said Ms. Mi.
Although they have to be away from their families and when they go to the South they will have to train with high intensity, under hot weather, but soldiers like Senior Lieutenant Luong Thi Yen or Major Nguyen Thi Mi always keep in mind"determined to overcome the sun and rain, practice enthusiastically"to successfully complete the task, contributing to the overall success of the April 30th celebration.
In the meeting on April 2, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Head of the Parade and Marching Subcommittee of the Ministry of National Defense, requested agencies and units to proactively develop specific, strict and scientific plans according to assigned tasks. Agencies and units need to carefully calculate the marching of troops and check the technical condition of vehicles.
During the move, agencies and units must strictly manage personnel numbers, ensure food and hygiene and food safety; coordinate and unify the reception organization at stations as well as road transfer locations thoughtfully, solemnly, safely and on time.
Previously, at the training session on March 25, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, said that many officers and soldiers had never been on a plane and did not know the South, so arrangements had to be made for everyone to enter by train but leave by plane.
After completing the parade and marching mission, agencies and units organize for officers and soldiers to visit some locations in Ho Chi Minh City.
The parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification will take place solemnly on the morning of April 30 in Ho Chi Minh City, with more than 13,000 participants. The parade of 35 groups of armed forces and police will be coordinated by the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security. The parade will be undertaken by Ho Chi Minh City.
