The visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Kingdom of Cambodia is President To Lam's first foreign trip since being elected by the National Assembly to his new position.
On the morning of July 11, President To Lam led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation leaving Hanoi for a state visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Kingdom of Cambodia.
President To Lam's visit to Laos and Cambodia from July 11 to 13 was made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith and Cambodian King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni.
Accompanying President To Lam during the visit were Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang; Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang; Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang; Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai; Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc; Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Le Quang Tung; Deputy Head of the Central External Relations Commission Nguyen Minh Tam; Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung; Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang; Assistant to the President To An Xo.
This is President To Lam's first overseas trip since being elected to his new position by the National Assembly, thereby demonstrating the very important message of the Party and State of Vietnam that they always value and give the highest priority to the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos and the good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability between Vietnam and Cambodia.
With the determination to promote the implementation of high-level agreements, especially the results of high-level meetings between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), the visit will mark a new stage of development in the Vietnam-Laos and Vietnam-Cambodia relations on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, effective cooperation, respect for each other's interests, contributing to consolidating strategic trust, deepening relations with the two countries, and strengthening solidarity between Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia and the ASEAN bloc.
