Safety commitment

With the orientation of becoming an industrial province, Hai Duong is focusing on attracting many projects to industrial parks, so the pressure on the environment is also increasing. To ensure sustainable industrial development, investing in wastewater treatment systems is not only a legal requirement but also a “hard” commitment of investors of industrial parks in Hai Duong to secondary investors and the community.

Among the 12 industrial parks that are investing in infrastructure and operating, Dai An and Dai An expansion industrial parks are receiving attention from investors in building a very systematic wastewater treatment system using modern technology.

Dai An Industrial Park was established in 2003. From the beginning, the investor designed a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 2,000 m3/day and night, up to now only 1,200 m3/day, night. Not long after that, in 2007, the Dai An Industrial Park expansion (with the same infrastructure investor) was established, the wastewater treatment plant was also designed with a capacity of 2,500 m3/day and night, but in reality only 1,600 m3/day and night. Both industrial parks are attracting 76 secondary investors, including 4 investors from the Dai An expanded industrial park that are completing legal documents.

The construction of a wastewater treatment plant is also of interest to the investor of the expanded Phuc Dien Industrial Park (Binh Giang). According to the design, the expanded Phuc Dien Industrial Park will have a centralized wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 8,000 m3/day and night. Phase 1 is under construction of the project to build a wastewater treatment plant for the expanded Phuc Dien industrial park worth more than 100 billion VND, with a capacity of 4,000 m3, expected to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2025. Currently, this industrial park has attracted 25 secondary investors who are investing in infrastructure construction.

Meet the needs of large customers

Recently, Deli Group (China) invested in building a stationery factory in the expanded Dai An industrial park. According to the design, the factory discharges 2,100 m3/day and night, but the first phase only uses 300 m3Therefore, the wastewater treatment plant of the industrial park still ensures the needs of using and treating wastewater of enterprises in the park.

However, to meet the future needs of secondary investors, in 2025 the investor will continue to build a wastewater treatment plant at the expanded Dai An Industrial Park with a capacity of 2,500 m3/day and night. The investor spent more than 100 billion VND to build a centralized wastewater treatment system for both industrial parks.

In Cong Hoa Industrial Park (Chi Linh), the investor of the industrial park is currently operating a wastewater treatment plant built according to the design of 2,000 m3/day and night and install additional wastewater treatment systems to ensure that businesses in the area can operate with peace of mind. However, investors also base on the needs of secondary businesses to take the lead in building and completing infrastructure, including wastewater treatment systems.

Boviet Hai Duong Solar Energy Science and Technology Company Limited leased 20 hectares of land in Cong Hoa Industrial Park to build a factory producing solar photovoltaic cells. The company is expected to produce 3 GW of photovoltaic cells and solar energy conversion modules each year. The total investment capital of the project is VND 2,820 billion (equivalent to USD 120 million).

Although the project has not yet come into operation, according to the design, the enterprise will discharge 9,000 m3/day and night. To meet the needs of businesses, the investor of Cong Hoa Industrial Park infrastructure has invested 120 billion VND to build a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 12,000 m3/day and night.

Staff of the Environmental Monitoring and Analysis Center (Department of Natural Resources and Environment) regularly take water samples from industrial zones for testing.

Centralized wastewater treatment systems in industrial parks help secondary businesses produce safely, without negative impacts on the environment, protecting water resources and surrounding ecosystems. This not only improves the quality of life for the community but also builds a positive image for the industrial park, thereby attracting more investors.

Automatic monitoring

According to the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Hai Duong province, the industrial parks in operation have all invested in building basic technical infrastructure systems according to the planning, ensuring the synchronous connection of industrial park infrastructure works and the operations of enterprises in the industrial parks including: traffic infrastructure systems, electricity supply, water supply, surface water collection systems, wastewater collection. 100% of the centralized wastewater treatment plants in the industrial parks are installed with automatic monitoring systems to transmit data 24/7 to the Environmental Monitoring and Analysis Center (Department of Natural Resources and Environment) for observation and monitoring.

Industrial parks all use automatic environmental monitoring systems to transfer data to the Environmental Monitoring and Analysis Center for monitoring and tracking.

Automatic environmental monitoring is a system of equipment and software designed to continuously monitor environmental factors such as water, air, land, noise, etc. without the need for regular human intervention. The application of an automatic environmental monitoring system is very convenient for state management agencies to monitor the environmental quality of industrial parks, impact the surrounding areas to promptly "blow the whistle" if indicators are detected to exceed the allowable threshold.

This system allows for the automatic collection and analysis of environmental data, helping to promptly warn of pollution problems or unusual factors in the environment. The automatic monitoring stations are installed by the investor with many sensors and measuring devices to monitor many parameters in parallel. The data is transmitted to the control center of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment via the internet connection. The data is always updated, stored and ready for analysis.

Environmental officers of Hyundai Kefico Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Dai An Industrial Park) said that the company discharges 160 m3 of wastewater every day.3Wastewater. Before discharging to the centralized treatment system of the zone, the enterprise has preliminarily treated it to meet standard B, then transferred it to the general wastewater collection system of the industrial zone for further treatment to meet type A according to the industrial wastewater standard QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT before discharging into the receiving basin.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Head of the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Hai Duong province, enterprises operating in industrial parks must strictly comply with the separation of wastewater and surface water according to regulations. 100% of enterprises in the industrial park have connected and transferred wastewater to the common wastewater collection system of the industrial park.

According to the province's orientation, industrial parks in Hai Duong focus on attracting modern technology production, green, clean, environmentally friendly technology, reducing industrial production that is harmful to the environment, especially groundwater sources such as: textile dyeing, chemicals, metallurgy, etc.

The province’s industrial parks are on the right track when it comes to investing in wastewater treatment systems. This not only demonstrates responsibility to the community but is also a strategic factor in enhancing competitiveness and sustainable development. The fact that industrial parks in Hai Duong are not afraid to spend hundreds of billions of VND to build wastewater treatment plants that ensure quality standards and apply modern technology is showing a strong determination to build a sustainable industrial economy, associated with environmental protection. High-tech wastewater treatment systems in industrial parks are gradually solving the problem of pollution and creating a foundation for the province’s long-term development.
