At the conference summarizing summer activities and the 2024 summer youth volunteer campaign held on the morning of September 26, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung suggested that the Steering Committees for summer activities at all levels should organize an early summary to promptly encourage and create momentum and motivation for teenagers and children before entering the new school year.
Speaking at the summary conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung praised the outstanding results in the summer activities and the 2024 youth volunteer campaign. The campaign attracted a large number of union members and young people to participate, many good and creative models emerged, and some localities have established a commune-level summer activity organizing committee.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that after the end of the summer activities, the Steering Committee should summarize, report, and proactively advise the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Summer Activities Steering Committee to draw experience and make an early summary. Similarly, the District Steering Committee needs to summarize early to promptly encourage and motivate teenagers and children before entering the new school year. At the same time, after the end of this year's summer activities, it is necessary to quickly develop content to include in the summer activities plan for next year.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung suggested that it is necessary to innovate methods, improve summer activities and youth volunteer campaigns, create practical and useful playgrounds for young people who return to their hometowns during the summer vacation to participate in healthy activities and entertainment. At the same time, it is possible to integrate the preservation and promotion of local cultural values and traditional customs into summer activities.
He also requested that members of the Steering Committee for summer activities and youth volunteer campaigns at all levels need to evaluate and analyze the limitations and objective and subjective causes. From there, propose effective solutions to overcome the limitations, especially the limitations that have lasted for many years, such as the rate of attracting students to participate in summer activities in the locality.
Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province need to closely follow the direction of the higher-level Youth Union organization, proactively advise and develop summer activity plans, with annual innovations; coordinate with departments and branches to establish and add members to the Summer Activity Steering Committee; promptly encourage and reward bright spots, creating motivation for the movement to develop.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 4 groups and 11 individuals with outstanding achievements in summer activities and youth volunteer campaigns. 9 groups and 20 outstanding individuals in the 2024 summer volunteer programs and campaigns received certificates of merit from the Central Youth Union.
In the summer of 2024, the Provincial Youth Union presented 2 youth projects, with a total value of 150 million VND; Youth Union chapters at all levels presented 20 district-level youth projects, with a total value of 801 million VND, and 473 grassroots youth projects and tasks.
There are 289 "Exam Support" teams, 41 "Green Summer" teams, 66 "Red Flamboyant" teams, 264 "Pink Vacation" teams, 294 "Green March" teams participating in the 2024 summer youth volunteer campaigns. In particular, this summer, Hai Duong youth actively participated in supporting the construction of the 500kV line 3 project.
The whole province organized 600 cultural, artistic and sports activities for children; 9/12 districts, towns and cities organized summer camps and fairs; supported 6,854 disadvantaged children; organized nearly 200 swimming classes, swimming courses, and training in drowning prevention skills for nearly 10,700 children; built 134 English clubs to teach free of charge to more than 2,000 disadvantaged children...
