Summer activities inspire youth

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung commended the outstanding results in summer activities and the 2023 youth volunteer campaign.

The summer youth volunteer campaign has become an attractive and appealing destination, contributing to the development of youth energy with many meaningful projects and tasks. Through volunteer activities, it has created an environment for union members and young people to practice, contribute and mature, contributing to the formation of a generation of young people who live beautifully, have courage, intelligence, health and social practice skills, contributing to the cause of building and developing the province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung noted that one of the new points of this year's campaign is the activities that focus resources to support disadvantaged areas; focus on promoting expertise in professional fields and strengths of young people; and apply digital transformation in implementing movements and activities.

He requested that the members of the Steering Committee for Summer Activities at all levels seriously and objectively evaluate the results of the 2023 summer activities; research, discuss, and contribute ideas to find solutions to overcome difficulties and limitations, and draw lessons in directing the implementation of summer activities in the following years. At the same time, he requested that the members of the Steering Committee continue to pay attention to creating consensus and support from Party committees, authorities, departments, branches, and organizations for the content of summer activities and youth volunteer campaigns.

In the summer of 2023, the Summer Activities Steering Committee at all levels organized the presentation of more than 5,200 gifts to children with a total value of more than 3.2 billion VND. The Youth Union at all levels presented 5 youth projects "The Second Journey of Tires" and 1 clean water project with a total value of 55 million VND.

The whole province organized 136 soft skills and talent classes for children, sports competitions such as table tennis, swimming, soccer, badminton, chess, painting and storytelling competitions... Established 232 youth volunteer teams to participate in the program "Supporting exam season", 38 student volunteer teams“Green Summer”. 100% of the Youth Union chapters coordinated with the police force to launch the “Peak month to support people in installing and activating electronic identification accounts on the VneID application”.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 13 groups and 18 individuals with outstanding achievements in summer activities and youth volunteer campaigns. 7 groups and 21 outstanding individuals in the 2023 summer volunteer programs and campaigns received certificates of merit from the Central Youth Union.
