People can activate VNeID (electronic identification account) on their computer in case they do not have a smartphone.
To activate the VNeID application on the computer, people follow the steps below:
Step 1:Using a computer (or laptop) with an Internet connection, access the Ministry of Public Security's VNeID website here.
Step 2:Select item"Activate account".
Step 3:Fill in the personal identification number (CCCD number - 12 digits) and the phone number registered for the electronic identification account, then select"Send request".
If the account has been activated before, there will be a notification with the content"Your account has been activated".
Step 4:Enter the OTP code from the message that VNeID sent to the registered phone number.
People need to enter the OTP code in the verification code entry box and then press"Confirm"(OTP code is only valid for 3 minutes).
Step 5:After the OTP code is correctly authenticated, it will be time to set up a password, passcode and security question.
Password is required with 8 to 20 characters (including numbers, uppercase letters, lowercase letters, at least 1 special character).
A passcode is a type of security code used for authentication when using services on the application.VNeID. The passcode is specified to consist of 6 numeric characters from 0 to 9.
After entering the passcode, press the button"Confirm".
Next is the part“Security question”. Security questions are used in some cases to verify the identity of citizens. You select each question in turn and fill in the answer, and remember the answer corresponding to each question so that it can be used in necessary cases according to the security requirements of the application.
Once setup is complete, the system will display a message."You have successfully activated your e-ID account". You click"Continue".
Step 6:"Login" again to VNeID application
At the account login interface, enter your personal identification number (CCCD number) and the created password and then click"Log in", verify the OTP code and press"Confirm". Now, you can use the VNeID application on your computer.
