Bac Ninh province plans to complete the project to submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee to issue a Resolution to establish Yen Phong and Tien Du cities.
At the 24th session of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Council on December 9, Mr. Dao Quang Khai, Standing Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, said that in 2025, the province aims to continue to be among the leading localities in the country in attracting investment; implementing at least 2 international-class smart, modern urban area projects.
At the same time, complete the dossier to submit to the Ministry of Construction to recognize Yen Phong and Tien Du urban areas as type III urban areas; complete the project to submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee to issue a Resolution to establish Yen Phong and Tien Du cities under Bac Ninh province.
Tien Du District is located in the north of Bac Ninh province, with an area of 95.6 km2 and a population of nearly 196,000 people. The district has 14 administrative units, including 1 town and 13 communes. The district center is about 5 km from Bac Ninh city and about 25 km from Hanoi center.
Yen Phong district is located in the west of Bac Ninh province, about 15km from Bac Ninh city, about 29km from the center of Hanoi capital. According to statistics in 2022, Yen Phong district has an area of 96.93km², population is 211,048 people.
Currently, Bac Ninh province has 2 cities: Bac Ninh and Tu Son; 2 towns: Thuan Thanh and Que Vo.
