Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son will attend the funeral of the Queen of England.

According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, authorized by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son will go to the United Kingdom to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, held on September 19, 2022 in London, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-reigning monarch in the history of the United Kingdom (70 years, 1952-2022). The Queen passed away on September 8, 2022 at the age of 96 at Balmoral Palace, Scotland.

Previously, on September 9, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent a message of condolences to King Charles III, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a message of condolences to British Prime Minister Liz Truss, and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue sent a message of condolences to British Lords John McFall and British House of Commons Speaker Lindsay Hoyle.

On the morning of September 10, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son visited the residence of the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Vietnam to sign the condolence book and express condolences on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Minister Bui Thanh Son wrote in the condolence book to express his condolences to Queen Elizabeth II; emphasizing his appreciation for the Queen's good feelings and support for promoting cooperation between Vietnam and the UK. The Minister sent his deepest condolences to the Royal Family, the Government and all British people.
