On May 23, the leader of An Giang Provincial General Hospital said that the unit had just successfully treated a 3-year-old girl who was critically bitten by a dog, with her intestines exposed and a serious head injury.

Previously, at around 11am on May 22, baby D.HB (3 years old, residing in Nui Sam ward, Chau Doc city) was taken to the emergency room by his family with multiple abdominal injuries. His left hip and abdomen had his intestines protruding. His head and temples were also scratched in many places, and there was a bruised area on the top of his head.

When he first came to the hospital, his pulse and blood pressure were stable, but he had a headache and severe stomachache. His family said he was bitten by a dog.

After receiving the patient, doctors at An Giang Provincial General Hospital in Chau Doc City administered IV fluids, pain relief, closely monitored vital signs, applied warm gauze to the protruding intestines, took brain scans, ultrasounds, tests, etc., then decided to perform immediate surgery.

The entire intestine is returned to the abdomen through a midline incision above the navel.

Currently, the baby's health condition is stable and is being monitored in the pediatric surgery department.
