A Deputy Chief Justice of the People's Court of Dak Doa district (Gia Lai province) has just been arrested by the Investigation Agency of the Supreme People's Procuracy for accepting bribes.
On September 9, the Investigation Agency of the Supreme People's Procuracy urgently arrested and searched the workplace of Mr. Bui Viet Minh Quan (41 years old), Deputy Chief Justice of the People's Court of Dak Doa district, Gia Lai province, to investigate the act of "receiving bribes", according to Clause 1, Article 354 of the Penal Code.
According to a source from the Gia Lai Provincial People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy's Investigation Agency arrested Mr. Bui Viet Minh Quan on the allegation that while he was a judge at the Ia Pa District People's Court, he received 70 million VND from a litigant to judge in his favor in the case of "Dispute over a property sale contract". Later, Mr. Quan's actions were denounced by the litigant.
From May 2023, Mr. Quan was transferred to hold the position of Deputy Chief Justice of Dak Doa District People's Court.
