On the evening of January 5, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2024), the announcement and awarding ceremony of the second National Press Award on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Award) in 2024 was held at the Vietnam - Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace (Hanoi).
Hai Duong Newspaper has a work that won the encouragement prize. It is a series of articles "What to do to effectively implement the arrangement of commune-level administrative units?" including 4 articles in print form by a group of authors: Hoang Bien, Ha Vy, Nguyen Thao, Thanh Dat, Phong Tuyet.
This is the first time Hai Duong Newspaper has a work winning the Dien Hong Award.
The work reflects important issues arising in the implementation of Resolution No. 35/2023/UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units for the period 2023 - 2030 in Hai Duong province. The work reflects the necessity and effectiveness of implementing the arrangement of commune-level administrative units; how to name localities; handling the "problem" of public headquarters; the arrangement of redundant cadres and civil servants...
The series of articles highlighted experiences and good practices in implementing the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the previous period (2019 - 2021) for reference in this period; recorded the opinions of leaders of many localities, units, and people on the issue of arrangement and merger... From there, proposed and recommended solutions to make the arrangement of administrative units truly effective and on schedule. After the series of articles were published, it received the attention of many officials, people, and readers.
Previously, in 2023, Hai Duong Newspaper was one of 15 agencies and units receiving the Excellent Collective Award for their positive contributions to the success of the first Dien Hong Award.
At the second Dien Hong Award in 2024, there were 79 award-winning works, including 7 A prizes, 14 B prizes, 20 C prizes and 38 consolation prizes.
By the time of the closing date for the second Dien Hong Award, the Organizing Committee had received 2,679 entries from 138 central and local press agencies, offices of the National Assembly and People's Council delegations, domestic and foreign individuals... The Secretariat of the Award had screened 2,130 entries and selected 540 entries for the preliminary round. The preliminary judging panel selected 106 entries for the final round, including 26 print entries, 15 magazine entries, 25 online entries, 12 radio entries, 20 television entries and 8 photojournalism entries.
According to the assessment, many works were invested in elaborately and systematically in both content and form of expression, often expressed in many installments with many lines of articles, modern forms of expression such as Mega-story, Infographic... The Judging Council highly appreciated the quality of the works participating in the second Dien Hong Award, especially the outstanding quality of the works awarded this time, demonstrating the attention, investment and response of press agencies as well as reporters and editors of central and local press agencies.
The participating works all closely follow and fully reflect the themes and topics according to the rules of the second Dien Hong Press Award, have good content, closely follow the "breath" of life, especially highlighting the position, role, functions and tasks of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels...
The Dien Hong Award is an annual award organized by the Office of the National Assembly in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Television to honor outstanding journalistic works about the National Assembly and People's Councils.
