Ensuring children have a safe and rewarding summer vacation

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung launched the Action Month for Children and Summer Festival 2023

On the morning of May 29, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union, and Chi Linh City People's Committee jointly organized the launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children and the Summer Festival 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Summer Activities and the 2023 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hai Duong Provincial Children's Fund, emphasized that Hai Duong province has implemented well programs for child care, education and protection. However, the current situation poses new challenges. Child abuse and injuries in the province tend to increase, especially drowning accidents. This raises the responsibility of Party committees at all levels, authorities, sectors, organizations, parents and the community in protecting and creating a friendly, healthy and safe environment for children.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung suggested that it is necessary to promote propaganda, raise awareness and responsibility of people about child protection; speak up and promptly report risks and acts of child abuse and violence; reduce accidents and injuries, especially drowning accidents. Organize many seminars, forums, entertainment activities, life skills education clubs during the summer to listen to children's voices, thereby taking timely actions, ensuring that children have a safe, useful and healthy summer vacation. This is an opportunity to come up with appropriate solutions, showing concern and giving priority to children living in a friendly and safe environment right from their families and society, preventing children from being at risk of falling into special circumstances or being hurt.

20 disadvantaged students in Chi Linh City were given bicycles

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung called on all levels, sectors, and socio-political organizations to coordinate with local authorities and people in the spirit of "Giving the best to children" and "Joining hands to minimize harm to children".

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung awarded scholarships from the Provincial Children's Support Fund to disadvantaged students in Chi Linh City.


Leaders of the City Party Committee and People's Committee of Chi Linh City awarded 20 scholarships to disadvantaged students.


Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union Secretary Nguyen Hong Sang awarded two students who won the national Kim Dong award for the 2022-2023 school year.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee launched the Month of Action for Children and the Summer Festival; launched the 2023 summer volunteer campaign; awarded 2 students who won the national Kim Dong award and 30 outstanding students at the 15th "Future Young Leaders" Contest for the 2022-2023 school year.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Children's Fund presented 20 bicycles, the Provincial Children's Fund presented 20 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND), and Chi Linh City presented 20 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND) to disadvantaged students in Chi Linh City. TISOFO Vietnam Import-Export Company Limited presented 640 boxes of imported milk worth more than 481 million VND to orphans in the "Godmother" program of Hai Duong province.

Representative of TISOFO Vietnam Import Export Company Limited symbolically presented 600 imported milk boxes worth more than 481 million VND to orphans in Hai Duong.

With the theme “Joining hands to reduce harm to children”, this year’s Action Month for Children takes place from June 1-30. Hai Duong currently has over 488,000 children (accounting for about 25% of the population), of which over 3,990 are in special circumstances and over 13,000 are at risk of falling into special circumstances.
