The decision to fine the business household Banh Mi Phuong 2 (address: 2B Phan Chau Trinh, Minh An ward, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province) was signed by Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Tri Thanh on October 3.

This facility was fined for many violations such as not complying with the law on the 3-step food inspection regime; keeping food samples; not having tools to collect and contain garbage and waste in a hygienic manner...

At the same time, Phuong bakery also violated other regulations on food safety conditions as prescribed, such as the processing area not ensuring hygiene; not distinguishing between the storage area for raw materials and food...

In particular, this facility violated the law by "processing, supplying, and selling food that causes food poisoning affecting the health of 5 or more people without reaching the level of criminal prosecution".

In addition to paying the fine, this business was also suspended from production for 3 months. The restaurant was forced to bear all costs for handling food poisoning, examining and treating the food poisoning victims.

Previously, according to the investigation conclusion of the Quang Nam Food Safety and Hygiene Department, about 3,600 people ate Phuong bread in Hoi An on September 11-12, of which 313 people were poisoned, 273 cases had to be hospitalized.

On September 21, the owner of Phuong Banh Mi posted an apology letter to customers on his personal page. The owner of Phuong Banh Mi admitted that this was a mistake on the shop's part in controlling the input materials, as well as not ensuring the quality before delivering to customers.
