In the joyful atmosphere of the spring of Quy Mao 2023, the Vietnamese people have another joy: celebrating our Party's new age.

Over the past 93 years, Spring-Country-People and our Party have always blended together as one, together creating miracles, writing glorious pages in the history of our country.

Under the leadership of the Party, the revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese people has achieved great victories of historical and epochal significance, changing the lives of each individual and the destiny of the entire nation.

The Party leads the people to gain independence for the nation.

Looking back at history from the mid-19th century when our country did not have a Party to lead, although our people and nation bravely rose up to fight, refusing to submit to the oppression and invasion of colonialism, they were all unsuccessful.

Typical examples include the uprisings of Truong Dinh, Thu Khoa Huan, Ton That Thuyet, Phan Dinh Phung, Hoang Hoa Tham... During this period, the Vietnamese revolution was in a deep crisis regarding the way to save the country.

In that context, on May 6, 1911, young man Nguyen Tat Thanh, with the name Van Ba, left Nha Rong wharf (Saigon) to find a way to save the country.

Through many years of wandering, Nguyen Tat Thanh - Nguyen Ai Quoc became a revolutionary soldier with rich practical experience in the struggle movement of colonial peoples in the early 20th century.

From patriotism, Nguyen Ai Quoc came to Marxism-Leninism and found the revolutionary path to liberate the nation.

On February 3, 1930, after nearly 20 years of searching for a way to save the country, Leader Nguyen Ai Quoc chaired a conference to unify three communist organizations in Vietnam into the Communist Party of Vietnam.

This was a momentous event, marking an important turning point in the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people; a great turning point, ending the crisis in the path of national salvation and the organization and leadership of the Vietnamese patriotic movement in the early 20th century and also the decisive starting point for the victory of the Vietnamese revolution and the development of the nation in the following stages.

With the right path, the Communist Party of Vietnam has strongly inspired and revived the aspiration for national liberation among the Vietnamese people.

In just 15 years of following the Party's revolutionary path, our people have achieved a great miracle - successfully carrying out the August Revolution in 1945, smashing the colonial-feudal domination, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, bringing our nation into the era of independence and freedom.

With that great victory: "Not only can the working class and the Vietnamese people be proud, but the working class and oppressed peoples elsewhere can also be proud that: This is the first time in the revolutionary history of colonial and semi-colonial peoples that a Party only 15 years old has successfully led the revolution and taken power throughout the country."

On September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi), President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, declaring the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Our country entered a new era, the most brilliant era in the history of the nation - the Ho Chi Minh Era.

Just over 4 months later, the first democratic general election on January 6, 1946 elected a constitutional National Assembly and Government that was in accordance with the people's wishes.

Right at the second session (November 1946), the National Assembly passed the first Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, solemnly affirming the nation's right to independence and the people's right to freedom and democracy.

Lead the entire army and people to defeat the invaders.

Immediately after the August Revolution in 1945, our people faced the French colonialists' plot to invade our country once again.

Faced with the "life-threatening" difficulties, our Party once again demonstrated the mettle of a true Marxist Party, proactively dealing with internal and external enemies with the motto: "The Fatherland above all, the Nation above all"; not compromising to lose the country's independence and sovereignty, but ready to make concessions and concessions in strategy to spend time building up all aspects of strength and preparing for a long-term resistance.

During the 9 years of resistance war against France (1945-1954), our Party wisely set out the policy of "All people, comprehensive, long-term and relying mainly on our own strength".

According to this strategy, the Party organized the entire people, gathered all forces into resistance organizations, built a strong political force and a strong armed force including three types of troops as the core for the entire people to fight the enemy.

And on May 7, 1954, the "Determination to fight - Determination to win" flag flew over General De Castries' bunker. The Dien Bien Phu stronghold was destroyed.

Under the wise leadership of the Party, our army and people achieved the Dien Bien Phu Victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world", ending the war in Indochina and opening a new page for the Vietnamese revolution.

On July 20, 1954, the Geneva Agreement was signed, ending the resistance war against the invading French colonialists.

Having just emerged from the 9-year resistance war against French colonialism, our nation had to enter the fight against American imperialism.

Facing a professional invading army that had never been defeated, the Party's correct leadership with extremely creative strategic decisions once again conveyed to the people and the entire nation the belief in the victory of justice over brutal forces. Our entire Party, people and army fought heroically and won gloriously.

With the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975, culminating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese army and people ended the more than century-long march against the French colonialists and the invading American imperialists, reuniting the country, opening an era of national independence, unity and socialism.

The victory of April 30, 1975 is the greatest achievement of the national liberation cause, going down in the history of the Vietnamese people, the Day of National Reunification.

The 4th Party Congress document in 1976 affirmed: “Years will pass, but the victory of our people in the resistance war against the US to save the country will forever be recorded in our national history as one of the most brilliant pages, a shining symbol of the complete victory of revolutionary heroism and human intelligence, and will go down in world history as a great feat of the 20th century, an event of great international importance and profound contemporary significance.”

The victory of the two long resistance wars against the French colonialists and the invading American imperialists was the result of a series of factors that created the invincible strength of the Vietnamese revolution. But the origin of all those factors was the correct leadership of the Party - the vanguard of the Vietnamese working class.

The Party successfully leads the cause of innovation, construction and development of the country.

After reunification, the whole country entered the process of building socialism, facing severe challenges and difficulties domestically, regionally and internationally.

Faced with that situation, our Party once again affirmed its responsibility before the nation and history, initiating and leading the renovation process (at the 6th Party Congress in 1986).

Our Party has decided to consistently and permanently implement a policy of developing a multi-sector economy; at the same time, innovate social policies, focusing on solutions to improve all aspects of people's lives.

After more than 35 years of renovation, Vietnam has achieved great and historic achievements. The most outstanding achievement is economic growth and development. Vietnam has emerged from the status of a poor and underdeveloped country and entered the ranks of middle-income countries since 2008. Per capita income will reach over 4,000 USD in 2022.

In particular, in 2022, national GDP growth will reach 8.02%, the highest in the 2011-2022 period.

Many other records were also set, such as import-export turnover reaching over 700 billion USD, trade surplus of 11.2 billion USD and the 7th consecutive year of trade surplus.

Vietnam has formed a number of key economic sectors: oil and gas, textiles, footwear, seafood, food, industrial crops, electronic component assembly... Having firmly resolved the food problem, Vietnam is now one of the world's leading rice exporters; Vietnamese agricultural products are increasingly penetrating many "difficult" markets.

Vietnam's economy is strongly integrated with the region and the world. Currently, Vietnam has trade relations with more than 200 countries and territories, signed bilateral trade agreements with more than 100 countries, including many new generation agreements.

In terms of culture and society, the material and spiritual life of all classes of people has been significantly improved, and social security has been ensured. Attention has been paid to building culture and developing the Vietnamese people comprehensively. The work of job creation and hunger eradication and poverty reduction has achieved good results.

Along with that, socialist democracy is promoted and increasingly expanded. Great national unity is consolidated and strengthened. The work of building the Party, the socialist rule-of-law state and the political system is promoted. The country's strength in all aspects is enhanced.

Foreign relations are increasingly expanded and deepened; Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena are enhanced.

To date, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 191/193 United Nations member states, strategic partnerships and comprehensive partnerships with over 30 countries, including all major countries in the Asia-Pacific region and 5 permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.

On the multilateral level, Vietnam is an active and responsible member of more than 70 important international organizations and forums such as the United Nations, ASEAN, APEC, ASEM, WTO...

Vietnam has also successfully organized many major international conferences and fulfilled many important international responsibilities as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, rotating ASEAN Chair, host of the ASEM Summit, APEC Summit, World Economic Forum on ASEAN, etc.

It can be affirmed that since the Party's leadership, the Vietnamese people have entered a new glorious page. Our country has transformed from a colonial and enslaved nation into an independent nation; people's lives have been constantly improved and enhanced, with many achievements in socio-economic development recognized and highly appreciated by the international community; foreign relations and international integration have been constantly expanded, economic, trade and investment cooperation has been strengthened. These great achievements have created an important premise for our country to continue to innovate and develop, confidently moving towards the future./.
