543 athletes participated in the 2nd Sports Tournament for civil servants, public employees and laborers in Hai Duong province

The 2nd Sports Tournament for civil servants, public employees and workers of Hai Duong province in 2024 attracted 543 athletes from 21 trade union organizations in the province to participate.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Tuan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee presented flowers and souvenir flags to the teams participating in the tournament.

On the morning of May 17, the Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to open the 2nd Sports Tournament for civil servants, public employees and workers of Hai Duong province in 2024.

This year's tournament attracted 543 athletes from 21 trade union organizations in the province. The athletes competed in 3 categories: men's football, women's football and women's volleyball with a total of 43 matches.

Men's soccer has 270 players; women's soccer has 116 players; women's volleyball has 157 participants.

Football is played in groups, with the top two teams advancing to the next round. Women's volleyball is divided into four groups.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, volleyball matches took place at the Sports Gymnasium and men's and women's football matches took place at Do Luong Stadium (Hai Duong City).

Men's football attracted 270 players to participate.

This is an activity in response to the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", Workers' Month 2024 and to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024).

The tournament is scheduled to end on May 23.
