Water sports dominated the 2024 Hai Duong athlete vote with 5 athletes and 3 coaches elected.
On the afternoon of December 26, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a vote for outstanding coaches and athletes in 2024.
The organizing committee has nominated a list of 6 coaches for the following sports: diving, rowing, canoeing, archery, weightlifting, aerobics; 12 athletes for the following sports: rowing, canoeing, diving, shooting, weightlifting, table tennis, archery, aerobics.
Notably, water sports dominated with 7/12 athletes and 3/6 coaches elected. This is Hai Duong’s strength and often achieves high results in domestic and international competitions.
As a result, 5 outstanding coaches were selected in the following sports: diving, archery, weightlifting, rowing, and canoeing.
10 athletes in rowing, canoeing, diving, shooting, weightlifting, table tennis, archery, and aerobics were voted outstanding in 2024.
Water sports coaches and athletes were voted the most with 3 coaches and 5 athletes.
Notably, this is the second consecutive year that athletes Pham Hong Quan, Nguyen Huu Thanh, Tran Dinh Thang, Pham Thi Thu, Nguyen Duc Tuan, Nguyen Van Quan have been elected. This is the third consecutive year that coaches Nguyen Thi Thiet, Pham Dang Khoa, Tran Thi Kim Oanh, and Le Thi Van have been elected.
The election of outstanding coaches and athletes takes place annually, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, to honor coaches and athletes with outstanding achievements, contributing to the overall achievements of Hai Duong sports in the past year.
The vote was held after the last tournament of the year ended, the 2024 National Swimming and Diving Championship. At this tournament, Pham Thi Thu of Hai Duong was the best female diver with 4 gold medals and 2 silver medals.
Notably, archery returned to the voting list after a year of absence. This year, for the first time, aerobics was included in the voting list.

- Nguyen Thanh Truc (aerobic gymnastics): 2 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 2 bronze medals at the Asian championship and the national championship.
- Bui Van Hoan (rowing): 6 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 4 bronze medals at the Asian, Southeast Asian and national championships.
- Nguyen Huu Thanh (rowing): 11 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 1 bronze medal at the Asian, Southeast Asian and national championships.
- Nguyen Van Quan (shooting): 2 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 1 bronze medal in the national championship; broke and set 1 national record.
- Nguyen Duc Tuan (table tennis): 2 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 4 bronze medals at the Southeast Asian Championship and the national championship.
- Oceania (canoeing): 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 5 bronze medals at the Asian, Southeast Asian and national championships.
