The military and police parade groups practiced together for the first time at Dien Bien province's stadium to prepare for the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory on the morning of April 28.
The Military Flag Block, commanded by Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, led blocks representing the People's Army and Militia forces across the stage.
This morning's joint training session was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense. The total number of participants in the parade was 12,000.
The parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory is expected to be held on the morning of May 7 at Dien Bien Provincial Stadium, with the participation of the Artillery Corps; Air Force; Parade Corps; Background Corps; and Formation Corps.
Thousands of people and tourists were present inside and outside Dien Bien province stadium to watch and cheer on the teams.
Three squadrons of 10 helicopters from the Air Defense - Air Force flying the Party flag and the national flag flew across the stadium.
The Mobile Police Cavalry unit entered the podium.
Through the joint training session, the units will evaluate the results, draw lessons from the training, and serve as a basis for continuing to train the forces and conduct further joint training with the parade and marching groups undertaken by the Ministry of Public Security and Dien Bien province in the coming days.
The female Special Police officers entered the stage. They have participated in many special projects to fight and suppress crime and have excellently completed their assigned tasks; they are considered the most resilient and strong "steel roses" of the People's Police force.
The marching steps of the special forces were in perfect order after nearly two months of training.
