Handling 7,541 traffic violations, fined nearly 20 billion VND

Today, local traffic police inspected, detected and handled 7,541 violations; imposed fines of nearly VND20 billion; temporarily detained 47 cars, 2,294 motorbikes, and 65 other vehicles.

On January 27 - the third day of the Lunar New Year holiday, there were 52 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 26 people and injuring 36 others.

Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 32 fewer cases, 12 fewer deaths, and 33 fewer injuries. All of the above accidents occurred on roads. There were no traffic accidents on railways or waterways.

The above information was announced by the Traffic Police Department on the afternoon of January 27.

Through patrolling, controlling and handling violations on the road, the Traffic Police of local Public Security inspected, detected and handled 7,541 violations; imposed fines of nearly 20 billion VND; temporarily detained 47 cars, 2,294 motorbikes, 65 other vehicles; revoked 428 driving licenses of all types, and deducted driving license points from 686 cases.

Of these, 1,842 cases were handled for alcohol concentration violations; 1,743 cases for speed violations; 20 cases for overloading; 9 cases for exceeding the size limit; 71 cases for carrying more people than the prescribed number; and 10 cases for drug violations.

The Highway Traffic Police Teams under the Traffic Police Department inspected and recorded 78 violations (27 passenger cars, 11 trucks, 38 cars, 1 container, 1 motorbike).

The fine is expected to be paid to the State Treasury at 323.3 million VND. Driving licenses were revoked in 7 cases and driving license points were deducted in 22 cases.

Through the monitoring system of the Highway Traffic Police Teams, 19 cases of traffic order and safety violations were detected. The Highway Traffic Police Teams sent violation notices to these cases.

The number of vehicles violating the law detected through technical equipment was 88 cases; Traffic police stopped vehicles and made administrative violation records for 37 cases; and sent notices to vehicle owners in 51 cases.

The number of vehicles violating the law detected through mobile patrols and video recordings was 27 cases, of which 19 cases were recorded and 8 cases were notified.

On waterways, Waterway Division I and Waterway Division II of the Traffic Police Department and the Traffic Police Department of local Public Security inspected, detected, and handled 19 violations, imposing fines of 2 million VND.

On the railway, the Railway Teams under Department 6 of the Traffic Police Department coordinate with relevant units to strengthen the grasp of the situation of ensuring order and safety of railway traffic, the operation of trains to proactively deploy measures to ensure traffic safety; assign 2 working groups of 4 officers and soldiers to check the working procedures and alcohol concentration of employees directly serving the operation of trains SE8 and SE12.

As a result, 51 employees on duty had full qualifications and professional certificates as prescribed; strictly followed the operating procedures of the railway industry, ensured safety, security and order, and no alcohol concentration violations were detected.
