Shooters Pham Quang Huy and Trinh Thu Vinh won gold medals in the 10m mixed team pistol event at the 2024 Asian Shooting Championship.

On January 9, the 2024 Asian Shooting Championship continued in Indonesia. The shooting duo Pham Quang Huy and Trinh Thu Vinh excellently won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event.
In this event, the Vietnamese shooting team participated with two groups, including: Pham Quang Huy, Trinh Thu Vinh and Lai Cong Minh, Nguyen Thuy Trang.
Team Pham Quang Huy, Trinh Thu Vinh showed great performance when they won 580-19x, ranked 2nd, and won the right to enter the gold medal round with the Indian team Sangwan Rhythm, Cheema Arjun Singh.
Entering the final match, the Vietnamese shooter duo quickly took the lead from the first shots. With excellent performance, Pham Quang Huy and Trinh Thu Vinh achieved absolute scores in the final shots to officially win the gold medal.
This is the first medal of the Vietnamese shooting team at the tournament.
The 2024 Asian Shooting Championship is considered a qualifying round for the Paris Olympics, but only individual events are counted as qualifying. Therefore, despite winning a gold medal, the 19th Asian Games champion Pham Quang Huy still cannot get a ticket to the 2024 Olympics.

Up to this point, the Vietnamese shooting team has only won one ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics thanks to female shooter Trinh Thu Vinh.
