Shooter Trinh Thu Vinh, the gold medal hope of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation on the competition day of September 29 at the 2023 ASIAD, did not compete successfully and was out of the medal group in the women's 10m air pistol shooting event.
With a score of 580 points in the qualifying round, shooter Trinh Thu Vinh won the right to enter the final round of the women's 10m air pistol medal. At the 2023 ASIAD Shooting Stadium in Phu Duong District (Fyuang) on the morning of September 29, many members of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation and reporters gathered here waiting for Trinh Thu Vinh to shine. Unfortunately, in the final round of the women's 10m air pistol event, Thu Vinh stopped at round 16 with 156.2 points and ranked only 6th. The female shooter made many mistakes with low-scoring rounds in the first and fourth rounds.
The Vietnamese shooter had previously defeated his Chinese opponent Zhao Nan in the shoot-off round to secure 6th place, but because he was 1 point behind his opponent Jiang Ranxin, Thu Vinh could not create a surprise.
Meanwhile, Indian shooter Palak ended the day with an excellent performance, winning the gold medal by scoring 242.11 points, breaking the Asian record. Fellow countryman Singh Esha finished second, winning the silver medal with 239.7 points. Pakistani shooter Kishmala Talat won the bronze medal with 218.2 points.
