Tourists flock to Ba Vi to hunt for sea of clouds and watch wild sunflowers bloom.

At 5:00 a.m. on November 17, Minh Loan and her husband (Quoc Oai, Hanoi) arrived at the gate of Ba Vi National Park.

Ms. Loan was surprised when it was not yet dawn, thousands of people were already lining up to buy tickets.

“Every year, during the wild sunflower season, I come here to admire the scenery. But in the past 5 years, I have never seen such a large number of people. There were lines of cars, engines and horns blaring. It took me more than an hour to buy an entrance ticket,” said Loan.

At 6:30, Loan and her husband arrived at the area where the wild sunflowers were in full bloom, just as dawn was breaking and a sea of thick, white clouds appeared.

“The scenery was extremely impressive, but the road was so crowded with people that it was difficult for me to take good photos. My husband and I intended to drive higher to enjoy the scenery, but the road was jammed. The crowd and noise made us tired, so we decided to turn back. At 7:45 a.m., I moved down and still saw groups of cars pulling up to the top of the mountain,” said Loan.

Loan and her husband took photos "checking in" with the sea of clouds and wild sunflowers at Ba Vi National Park.

At 7 o'clock, when she arrived at the gate of Ba Vi National Park, Ms. Phuong Khanh (Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi) "cried out loud" because of the scene of "hundreds of cars lined up, many people falling asleep on motorbikes waiting to buy tickets".

Standing in the middle of the traffic, unable to move forward or backward, Ms. Khanh and her friend had to wait for their turn to buy tickets.

“I arrived late so I didn’t have time to see the sea of clouds. It took us an hour to buy tickets, and another 1.5 hours to get through the traffic to get to the area with lots of wild sunflowers. However, there were so many people jostling to take pictures that I didn’t have any satisfactory ‘check-in’ photos,” said Ms. Khanh.

Mr. Dinh Khai Hung (Hoa Binh) traveled 2 hours to Ba Vi to hunt for the sea of clouds and admire the blooming wild sunflower season.

“On October 20, I came here to hunt for clouds and recorded the crowded and congested scene, but on November 17, the number of people increased several times, causing serious congestion. After getting through one congested section, another one appeared. The scenery was beautiful but the crowding was very difficult,” he said.

Mr. Do Huu The, Director of Ba Vi National Park, said that during the two weekend days, the park welcomed over 26,000 visitors, with about 19,700 visitors on November 17 alone.

“This is a very large number of visitors. Up to now, on the peak day, Ba Vi National Park welcomed over 21,000 visitors,” Mr. The informed.

To ensure traffic safety, traffic police and National Park staff are on duty to direct traffic, assist tourists and handle violations.

“The sea of clouds and wild sunflowers in Ba Vi last weekend were truly beautiful. I have been here for many years and was still surprised by the sea of clouds on the morning of November 17. Visitors who witnessed it all exclaimed with delight. The wild sunflowers are expected to bloom in 2 weeks,” said Mr. The.

Ba Vi National Park has proactively posted weather information and traffic developments on its website, fanpage, Zalo, and broadcasted information to tourists via loudspeakers.

To see wild sunflower season and take beautiful photos, avoid crowds, visitors should arrange to come to Ba Vi on a weekday.

In case of going on the weekend, visitors can come at noon. This time is not good for hunting clouds but there is more open space to take pictures with the wild sunflowers blooming.

Ba Vi National Park is about 60km from the center of Hanoi.

In the National Park, there are places to visit such as the ancient abandoned church, covered with moss and mysterious, or the cactus greenhouse. Visitors can also combine to visit Khoang Xanh - Suoi Tien, Ao Vua, Thien Son - Suoi Nga.
