Vietnam is about to have 383 new professors and associate professors.

383 candidates have received enough votes of confidence for the title of professor and associate professor.

On the morning of November 1, the State Council of Professors publicly announced the list of 383 candidates who have achieved enough votes of confidence for the titles of professor and associate professor in 2022.

Previously, on October 29, the State Council of Professors for the 2018-2023 term held the 10th meeting chaired by Minister of Education and Training, Chairman of the State Council of Professors Nguyen Kim Son to consider and recognize the qualifications for the title of professor and associate professor in 2022.

At the meeting, the State Council of Professors spent most of its time discussing and exchanging in detail the training achievements, scientific research and professional reputation of the candidates, especially spending a lot of time discussing and exchanging in detail about candidates with denunciations and social feedback after being considered by the industry and interdisciplinary Councils of Professors.

The State Council of Professors voted to approve the candidates included in the list for the vote of confidence and conducted a vote of confidence.

The number of candidates who achieved the required number of votes of confidence as prescribed was 383, including 34 professor candidates and 349 associate professor candidates. The passing rate compared to the total number of candidates who registered to submit their applications to the basic Professorial Councils was 69.3% (of which, the passing rate of professor candidates was 56.7%, and of associate professor candidates was 70.8%).

Among the 28 councils, the Economics Professorship Council has the largest number of candidates - 48 candidates (3 professors, 45 associate professors).

The Interdisciplinary Council of Professors of Chemistry - Food Technology has 44 people (one professor, 44 associate professors).

The Council of Professors of Medicine ranked 3rd with 43 candidates being considered (7 professors, 36 associate professors).

The Metallurgy Professorial Council has one candidate for the title of associate professor, no professorial candidates. The interdisciplinary Professorial Council of History - Archaeology - Ethnology, Linguistics has two candidates.

Only the Psychology Faculty Council had no candidates accepted.

Within 15 days, if there is no petition or feedback, the Chairman of the State Council of Professors will sign a decision to recognize the qualifications for the title of professor and associate professor in 2022.
