Gathering professional Vietnamese and international boxers, the Asian championship event of WBA & WBC LEAD: Battle of Power promises to bring fierce competitions.
The LEAD Professional Boxing Series officially returns with the event Lead: Battle of Power taking place on the evening of August 20 at Saigon Sports Club, Ho Chi Minh City with a total of 12 matches between talented and promising professional boxers from Vietnam, France, Russia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, South Africa, Singapore...
In particular, at this event, boxers will compete to win the World Boxing Association Asia (WBA Asia) and World Boxing Council Asia (WBC Asia) championship belts - two of the most prestigious professional titles, to honor the best boxers in the region and continent.
For the first time, the silver belt of the WBC Professional Boxing Asia will be contested in Vietnam with the highlight confrontation in the Middleweight category between "undefeated" boxer Trinh The Long (4 wins, 0 losses, 0 draws with 4 wins by knockout) and Thailand's top boxer Chayanon Phothijun (7 wins, 3 losses, 0 draws with 5 wins by knockout).
In the matches for the WBA Asia belt, Vo Hong Dat (5 wins, 0 losses, 0 draws with 4 knockouts) will compete for the Lightweight championship belt with experienced opponent Ernie Sanchez (21 wins, 18 losses, 2 draws with 12 knockouts) from the Philippines.

Besides the two Vietnamese representatives, this is a rare event when foreign boxers choose Vietnam as the location for the Asian championship match. Boxing prodigy currently training in Vietnam, Arvin Paciones (4 wins, 0 losses, 0 draws with 3 wins by knockout), currently ranked 49th in the Boxrec World, and his compatriot from the Philippines, Jonathan Refugio (22 wins, 9 losses, 5 draws with 8 knockouts), will compete for the vacant WBA Asia Light Fly belt.
In addition, Russian boxer Avzalbek Kuranbaev (7 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw with 5 knockouts) will face Adam Diu Abdulhamid from the Philippines for the WBA South Asia Middleweight Championship.
In addition to the title matches, the event also brings together other martial artists representing Vietnam to compete such as Trieu Kim Long, twins Gia Thanh Doan & Gia Dai Doan, To Phi Vinh, Lu Huu Thien..., promising to bring dramatic and equally exciting matches.
Ms. Jenny Do, Executive Director of the organizer Shadow Entertainment, said that the event, part of the LEAD Professional Boxing program, co-organized with the Vietnam Boxing Federation and the Ho Chi Minh City Boxing Federation, is an important stepping stone to elevate Vietnamese Boxing, helping boxers realize their path to conquering the World Professional Boxing Championship.
