Vietnam is the world's leading heritage destination in 2024

The World Travel Awards has officially announced Vietnam as the world's leading heritage destination in 2024 at the awards ceremony in Madeira, Portugal.

This is the 5th time Vietnam has been honored in this category, following previous achievements in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023.

To maintain its "form", Vietnam had to overcome many "heavyweight opponents" such as Armenia, Brazil, Egypt, Greece, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.

The title of the world's leading heritage destination once again affirms the potential and leading attraction of Vietnam's unique heritage values ​​with a system of 9 world natural and cultural heritages, 15 intangible cultural heritages, and 10 documentary heritages honored by UNESCO.

Besides the beauty of mountains, forests, seas and islands, Vietnam also possesses world natural and cultural heritages, historical and cultural relics associated with traditional festivals, long-standing craft villages, rich cuisine, architectural works with deep historical values...

Each type of heritage in Vietnam has its own unique beauty and its own story. That creates an irresistible beauty for international tourists, and is one of the factors introducing and promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam to the world.

In addition to the title of world's leading heritage destination 2024, Vietnam also has local destinations that have been awarded world-leading award categories.

Hanoi continues to receive the title of “World’s Leading Tourism Management Agency 2024.” Phu Quoc Island won the title of “World’s Leading Natural Island Destination 2024.”

Ha Nam won the “Special Achievement Award 2024”. Tam Dao won the title of “World's Leading Tourist Town 2024.”

In addition, many other world-leading award categories are also for outstanding Vietnamese aviation, travel, and tourism businesses.

The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 and is considered the Oscar of the tourism industry. The awards are held annually to honor outstanding destinations, tourism management agencies, and quality tourism service providers, including many categories such as airlines, hotels, resorts, travel agencies, and tourist destinations. This year is the 31st time the awards have been held.
