Vietnam won 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals at the 2023 European Physics Olympiad

In 2023, the Vietnamese team participating in the European Physics Olympiad consists of 5 members selected by the Vietnam Physics Association from students who won prizes in the National Excellent Student Competition in the 2022-2023 school year.

Immediately after the closing ceremony of the competition, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Cao Khang (Hanoi National University of Education) - Head of the Vietnamese delegation said that all 5 members of the Vietnamese team won medals, including 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.

Specifically, the gold medal belongs to Dang Bao Quan (Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An province).

The three silver medals went to Vo Minh Dang (Luong Van Chanh High School for the Gifted, Phu Yen province); Truong Phi Hung (Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, Bac Giang province); and Vu Tung Lam (Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Phu Tho province).

The bronze medal went to Nguyen Khai (Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh province).

This is the 5th year Vietnam has participated in the EuPhO exam.

At last year's EuPho competition, the Vietnamese team won 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.

The European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO) is an annual continental physics competition for high school students from all over Europe and some invited countries outside Europe.

EuPhO 2023 takes place from June 16 to June 20, 2023 in the Federal Republic of Germany with the participation of 181 students from 38 countries in and outside Europe.

This year's Vietnamese team consists of 5 members: Vo Minh Dang (Luong Van Chanh High School for the Gifted, Phu Yen province); Truong Phi Hung (Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, Bac Giang province); Nguyen Khai (Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh province); Vu Tung Lam (Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Phu Tho province); Dang Bao Quan (Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An province).
