Previously on May 10, the Evry Court in France dismissed the historic lawsuit of Ms. Tran To Nga against 14 chemical companies that supplied Agent Orange to the US military for use during the Vietnam War.

Responding to questions about this at a regular press conference on May 13, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said she "deeply regrets the court's ruling on Ms. Tran To Nga's Agent Orange lawsuit."

Spokesperson Thu Hang emphasized that Vietnam suffered severe consequences of war, including the severe and long-term impact of Agent Orange/dioxin.

"We support the victims of Agent Orange/dioxin in demanding legal responsibility for the US chemical companies and the production and trade of Agent Orange/dioxin during the war in Vietnam.

We believe that these companies must be responsible for overcoming the consequences of Agent Orange/dioxin in Vietnam," said Ms. Hang.

Ms. Tran To Nga, 79 years old, has dual French and Vietnamese citizenship, is a victim of Agent Orange and has spent more than 10 years demanding justice for Agent Orange victims, including 6 years pursuing the lawsuit.

According to AFP news agency, in its ruling on May 10, the Evry court affirmed that it did not have jurisdiction to try a case related to the US government's wartime actions.

Over the past time, the Vietnamese Embassy in France has kept in touch to exchange and encourage Ms. Tran To Nga and is ready to provide appropriate support, said spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang.
