Literature and art have made great contributions to the development of the country.

On the morning of November 20, the Hai Duong Province Literature and Arts Association chaired the workshop "The country's innovation and the contribution of literature and arts" of the Literature and Arts Development Cooperation Group (VN8+5 Group - a group of similar Literature and Arts Associations).

Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor, Doctor, musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the National Committee of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, non-professional Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, affirmed that in recent times, literature and art have made great and important contributions to the country's development in all aspects.

Comrade Do Hong Quan also gave some practical suggestions for the Literature and Arts Associations in the coming time. Typically, implementing Directive 36-CT/TW in 2024 of the Secretariat on the Congress of Literature and Arts Associations and the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations for the 2025-2030 term, the Literature and Arts Associations need to discuss thoroughly and select personnel to elect a delegation to attend the National Congress in July 2025.

The Central Propaganda Department has a plan to organize activities to summarize 50 years of Vietnamese literature and art after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). This is a difficult task, so associations need to invest and consult with previous generations - artists who have directly contributed to the achievements of literature and art over the past 50 years.

One very important thing is to pay attention to the team of people who work in literary and art criticism theory. They do research, give orientation, give directions, and forecast the development trends of literature and art in each stage and period. Therefore, it is necessary to develop this team with better quality in the coming time.

All units participating in the workshop had presentations and contributed opinions. Ms. Truong Thi Thuong Huyen, President of the Literature and Arts Association of Hai Duong province, said that the presentations all focused on evaluating and closely following the issues and practical requirements of the workshop's theme.

That is, the openness and freedom of creation for artists and writers has reflected both the progressive development and the limitations that need to be overcome. Especially the innovation in the way of looking at and caring for the development of Vietnamese literature and art, creating conditions for literature and art to accompany the construction and development of the country.

The workshop agreed that Thai Binh Provincial Literature and Arts Association is the host of VN8+ 5 Workshop Round III.

Previously, within the framework of the workshop, the units participated in displaying 70 works at the "Cooperation and Development" Fine Arts Exhibition; visiting green agricultural areas and craft villages in Tu Ky district.

VN8+5 Group is a group of Literary and Art Associations with similar characteristics.
Council (number of members, methods and objectives of activities, development trends, achievements, difficulties, advantages, creative orientation, innovative models in literary and artistic creative activities).

When established in 2009, the group had 8 Literature and Arts Associations including: Hai Phong, Phu Tho, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Bac Giang, Son La, Yen Bai, Ninh Binh. Up to now, the group has developed into 4 more localities: Vinh Phuc, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Hoa Binh.

This year, Hai Duong hosted the conference and invited additional guest groups from Thua Thien Hue and Lao Cai. Because Thua Thien Hue did not attend, the group took the name VN8+5.
