On the morning of August 22, the Literature and Arts Association of Hai Duong province organized the launching of the poetry collection “Against the Sun” by author Nguyen Huy and “A Hundred Years of Blinking the Eye of Love” by author Thai Ba Ly. These are two authors who actively collaborated and had many works published in Hai Duong Newspaper.
The poetry collection "A Hundred Years of Blinking Love" by author Thai Ba Ly has 56 poems. These are poems accumulated over a period of 20 years with a wide cultural space, a wide life space from Viet Bac, Tay Bac, Red River Delta... and even abroad. Many images of discovery are distilled by the author into the work such as: "Going to the market, a man becomes a prince/ Just a bowl of mountain corn wine makes him nod off". Or the poem "Don't be a stream that goes far, goes far/ Be a rice flower that knows how to return home"... In the poetry collection, there are many gentle, emotional poems that express the author's thoughts such as: Spring, Morning spring, Vuong van dieu then...
The poetry collection "Against the Sun" by author Nguyen Huy is a poetic diary of the author's trips and experiences after 6 years on the roads and lands. The 54 poems in "Against the Sun" have a large, multi-dimensional geographical space with a writing style interwoven in the way of expression to be closer, to bring the breath of life, to write down thoughts, to share one's heart with the author's loved ones. "Against the Sun" is also a poem, which the author chose as the title, the name of the entire poetry collection. That is the author's feelings when remembering the sunny summer days in the countryside of Tho Xuan, Thanh Hoa province "Against the summer sun/ Chu river, the bottom of the sand is bare/ Pebbles touching the lips are burning/ The heart is full of sorrow..."
According to the assessment of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, the two works have demonstrated enough contemplation for the two authors to write good poems, poems that evoke a broad, humane view, full of love for life and people. The content of the two works is very rich, about the lands and people where the authors have passed through with all their love and sincerity. The two works will contribute to bringing readers diverse and rich feelings about the lands and countryside of Vietnam.
