After 12 hours of travel and transit, the Vietnamese team arrived in Basra city (Iraq) on the afternoon of June 8, preparing for the match against the host in the final round of the 2nd qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.Previously, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team left Hanoi at 3:00 a.m. to fly to Doha (Qatar), then connected to Basra.The whole team landed safely at the airport in the neighboring country to prepare for the important match ahead.Van Truong and his teammates were quickly guided through immigration by the host country's representative.Players take advantage of buying phone SIM cards to contact relativesThe Vietnamese team was arranged by Iraq to stay at the 5-star Grand Millennium Al Seef Basra hotel.The host country's organizing committee arranged a training ground located right next to the Basra International Stadium, 20km from the Grand Millennium Hotel, about 30 minutes by bus.Security forces closely follow and protect the members of the Vietnamese team.The match between Vietnam and Iraq will take place at 9:00 p.m. on June 11 local time (1:00 a.m. on June 12 Vietnam time).
