Vietnam team finalizes friendly match schedule with Russia and Thailand at My Dinh

Preparing for the AFF Cup 2024 campaign, the Vietnamese team will participate in an international friendly tournament during FIFA Days in September 2024, organized by the VFF with the participation of two guest teams, Russia and Thailand.

Both "blue teams" of the Vietnamese team are very high-quality teams, certainly helping coach Kim Sang Sik and his team achieve many professional results towards the number 1 regional football tournament at the end of the year with the goal of winning the championship.

Russia is currently ranked 33rd in the FIFA rankings, considered one of the strongest teams in Europe and the world, with 11 appearances in the World Cup and reaching the semi-finals in 1966 and 2018.

Recently, although not participating in official UEFA and FIFA tournaments, the Russian team has maintained high performance through friendly matches. Recently, this team won with the same score of 4-0 against Serbia and Belarus.

Preparing for the highly anticipated upcoming friendly matches, on August 19, VFF and LPBank held a signing ceremony and announced the main sponsor of the LPBank Cup 2024 international friendly football tournament. The tournament will take place from September 5 to September 10, 2024 at My Dinh National Stadium at 8:00 p.m. on September 5, September 7 and September 10.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese team will gather on August 30 in Hanoi. Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will have nearly a week of training to prepare for the match against Russia (September 5), then compete with Thailand (September 10). Interspersed between these two matches is the confrontation between Russia and Thailand on September 7.
