Volvo XC90 Excellence recall in Vietnam

According to information from Volvo Cars Group, the Swedish car company will recall 1,151 vehicles to update the front passenger seat control software on the Volvo S90 Excellence and XC90 Excellence models globally. According to the announcement, this recall program will apply to the S90 Excellence and XC90 Excellence models from the 2016-2020 model years.

In the Vietnamese market, from November 1, the company will recall 28 Volvo XC90 Excellence cars included in this update, belonging to the 2019-2020 model year.

Through survey and evaluation, Volvo Cars has determined that when adjusting the front passenger seat using the rear seat control screen, if there is water or liquid on the screen, it will cause the front passenger seat to move to a limited position, not according to the customer's wishes and in the worst case, it can affect the person sitting behind the passenger, if any.

However, the car company confirmed that so far there have been no reports of injuries related to this issue. Volvo Cars will update the new software to ensure safe vehicle operation. This activity is completely free of charge.

Previously October 2021,VinFast recalls 2,853 Chevrolet Spark Van vehicles manufactured and assembled by General Motors Vietnam Company Limited (GMV) from 2013-2015.

The purpose of the program is to inspect and replace floor mats and metal parts under the floor mats that have oxidized and corroded over time. The program is implemented by VinFast under the authorization of General Motors.

VinFast will notify owners of recalled vehicles via phone or text message. For non-genuine imported vehicles, upon request from the owner, VinFast will notify General Motors to provide appropriate support.
