Spring newspaper exhibition in Ninh Giang attracts readers

26 years of bringing Spring newspapers to readers

On January 10, 2023, the Ninh Giang District Culture and Sports Center held the opening ceremony of the 2023 Spring Newspaper Exhibition at the District Library with more than 200 publications from central and local press agencies. Having been a regular reader of the Ninh Giang District Library for more than 10 years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Huyen, 23 years old, from Hiep Luc Commune (Ninh Giang) was present early on the opening day of this Spring Newspaper Exhibition.

“Although I work in Hai Duong City, I have proactively arranged time to attend the Spring Newspaper Exhibition of my home district. This is an opportunity for me to read good pages of my favorite Spring newspapers. Most of the Spring articles are quality articles, sharing interesting stories from inside and outside the province, presented vividly, so I often take photos of good articles to read and ponder at home,” Ms. Huyen Mai shared.

Meanwhile, Ms. Vu Thi Minh, 67 years old, in Zone 4, Ninh Giang town, only likes to read newspapers and books. Ms. Minh and many friends in the neighborhood are looking forward to the district's Spring Newspaper Festival to easily grasp information about all areas of the locality and the whole country.

Although it only took place at Ninh Giang District Library from January 10 to 17, Ninh Giang District Culture and Sports Center invested more than 7 million VND to purchase 120 press publications, and actively contacted specialized departments and offices in the district to borrow specialized magazines to diversify the genres and content of the 2023 Spring Newspaper Exhibition. Ninh Giang District Library also applied the model of exchanging old books and newspapers for library cards, attracting many readers to participate...

During the event, the 2023 Spring Newspaper Exhibition in Ninh Giang District attracted more than 500 readers in the district each day. Some readers from Thai Binh Province even came to see it. In addition to displaying and introducing publications and spring special editions directly, the Ninh Giang District Cultural and Sports Center increased promotion on Facebook to attract more readers. The Center also circulated the exhibition's books and newspapers to several communes so that local people could easily come and see them.

Teachers and students of Tan Quang 2 Secondary School often go to the library to read the Spring newspaper to review social argumentative essays.

Social argumentative learning materials for students

At the end of January, more than 100 press publications of the 2023 Spring Newspaper Exhibition in Ninh Giang district were delivered to the Library of Tan Quang 2 Secondary School, Tan Quang Commune (Ninh Giang). Teachers and students of the school were very excited with the meaningful gift containing a lot of knowledge.

Vu Thi Anh Thu, a 9th grader at Tan Quang 2 Secondary School, said that the articles in the Spring editions of the newspaper displayed in the school library are presented in an eye-catching manner, with many illustrations that attract students to read. In addition, the articles also write about many good examples and sayings in life. This is the study material for students to review the social argumentative essay section in the upcoming high school exam.

Teacher Vu Dinh Nguyen, Principal of Tan Quang 2 Secondary School, said: "The literature exam for 9th graders in recent years has become increasingly close to real life. Updating information on articles in press publications will help provide current information to teachers and students to serve the study and teaching work. In the coming time, the school will introduce good articles to students in the morning of the flag salute on Monday at the beginning of the week, and at the same time organize extracurricular classes to read books and newspapers at least once a week at the school library."

During the Spring Newspaper Exhibition at the District Library, Ninh Giang Town Secondary School organized many sessions for 9th grade students to come and study and research. Most of the students showed interest in reading books and newspapers, which helped them to acquire new knowledge, study and play after stressful lessons at school.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Van, Vice Chairman of Ninh Giang District People's Committee, said that with the important significance of the Spring newspaper exhibition in enhancing the local reading culture, in the coming time, Ninh Giang district will continue to closely coordinate with press agencies in the province, the provincial library, and related units to proactively diversify Spring newspaper publications of all sectors and fields to all ages.
