On October 31, nearly 100 social workers from provincial organizations and the Departments of Health, Education and Training, Information and Communications, Home Affairs, Justice, etc. were given a discussion and guidance on skills to support mentally ill people, autistic children, and people with mental disorders in the community by representatives of the Department of Social Protection (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs).

Delegates were provided with information about the current state of the social work profession, issues arising in the process of caring for and educating autistic children and mentally ill people, helping them integrate into the community; at the same time, they were instructed on how to identify mentally disturbed people, autistic children, treatment methods, and support in the community. The tasks of social workers focus on early intervention, supporting people under social protection to have a better life.

The training course is one of the contents of the implementation of the Social Work Development Program in Hai Duong province for the period 2021-2030, which has been issued by the Provincial People's Committee. The province aims to increase the rate of people in difficult circumstances (including mentally ill people and autistic children) receiving support by 20% by 2025 compared to 2020.
