US President Joe Biden is trying to score points with voters nationwide to prepare for a "rematch" with Mr. Donald Trump in the race for the White House next November.

Meanwhile, former President Trump is also stirring up voters' spirits by emphasizing the significance of this year's presidential election.

At an event in Washington on March 16, President Biden sought to ease voters' concerns about his age by joking that "a candidate is too old and not mentally fit to be President. But that's not me."

Regarding economic concerns, the incumbent president affirmed that the Democratic Party's election campaign will demonstrate to the people that the country's economy is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the gala attended by the media and America's political elite, Mr. Biden affirmed the role of the media in the country's political events. He also said that the upcoming election is an "unprecedentedly important moment" for America.

Meanwhile, at a campaign event in Ohio on March 16, former President Trump built confidence in voters that his White House campaign would bring a turning point for the country by saying that the November presidential election would be "the greatest day" in American history.

He also warned of an existential threat to the domestic auto industry as China plans to manufacture cars in Mexico for later export to the US market.

This campaign took place after former US Vice President Mike Pence, who was former President Trump's "right-hand man", announced that he would not support Mr. Trump returning to the White House.

Ohio has been a battleground state in US elections for decades, with the state trending more strongly towards the Republican Party since Mr Trump won in 2016.

Previously, the primary election results showed that incumbent President Biden and former President Trump had won enough votes to become each party's presidential candidate to participate in the race for the White House next November.
