General Secretary and President To Lam meets with General Secretary and President of Laos

Within the framework of attending the 19th Francophone Summit in Paris (France), on the afternoon of October 5 (local time), General Secretary and President To Lam met and discussed with General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.

At the meeting with Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his appreciation for the special Vietnam-Laos relationship, emphasizing that the relationship between the two countries is a priceless asset, a rare exemplary, loyal, and pure relationship in international relations.

General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his emotion and appreciation for the two sides' concern, visits and mutual support in overcoming the effects of recent natural disasters, demonstrating the close comradely and brotherly affection and the tradition of mutual love between the two peoples.

Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his pleasure at meeting General Secretary and President To Lam again; emphasizing that Laos attaches special importance to its relations with Vietnam, always striving to foster and develop the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to continue to develop sustainably and deepen.

The two sides' concern, visits and mutual support in overcoming the effects of natural disasters demonstrate the close comradeship, brotherhood and tradition of mutual love between the two peoples.

The Lao Party General Secretary and President conveyed his warm regards to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; recalled the good results of the State visit to Vietnam and the annual meeting between the two Politburoes of Vietnam and Laos in September 2024.

The two leaders highly appreciated the fact that the departments, ministries, branches and localities of the two countries are actively coordinating and implementing the major orientations that the Politburo of the two countries agreed upon at the recent meeting, including promoting a number of key projects to achieve positive progress; affirmed that they will continue to pay attention to and closely direct relevant agencies to focus on effectively implementing high-level agreements, cooperation programs between the two Parties, the two countries and bilateral mechanisms.

In the context of complicated developments in the world situation, the two General Secretaries and Presidents emphasized the value of Vietnam-Laos, Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia solidarity; agreed to continue to coordinate with Cambodia to make the three countries' cooperation increasingly substantive and effective, meeting the practical needs of the three countries and in line with development needs in the new period, in which priority is given to strengthening cooperation and connecting the three economies of Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia.

At the meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the two leaders emphasized the importance of the good traditional friendship between the two countries, which has been nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam wishes to promote multifaceted and substantive cooperation with Armenia to effectively exploit the cooperation potential between the two countries, especially in economics and trade.

The Armenian Prime Minister recalled the important agreements reached by the two sides during his visit to Vietnam in 2019; and asked the two sides to direct relevant agencies to closely coordinate to promote the good implementation of the signed agreements.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister of Armenia invited General Secretary and President To Lam to visit Armenia at an appropriate time.
