On the afternoon of February 26, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens Group (Federal Republic of Germany), who is visiting and working in Vietnam.
Appreciating Germany's leading role and position in Europe and the world, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam always attaches importance to deepening relations with Germany in all fields. The Prime Minister was pleased to see that after nearly 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations and more than 10 years of establishing the Strategic Partnership, the Vietnam - Germany relationship has been continuously consolidated, nurtured and developed increasingly well in all fields, in which the pillar of trade - investment cooperation with Germany is especially valued; especially after the successful visit to Vietnam by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in January 2024.
Informing that during the meetings, the Prime Minister and the German Chancellor both wished to promote trade and investment cooperation, especially promoting the connection between businesses of the two countries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam will continue to improve its institutional and policy systems to improve the investment and business environment in an increasingly favorable, equal, safe, stable and transparent manner; committed to creating all favorable conditions for businesses, including German businesses such as Siemens, to invest and do business long-term and effectively in Vietnam; at the same time, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of businesses in all cases, on the basis of mutual benefit.
Thanking Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for taking the time to meet him and appreciating the potential and business investment environment in Vietnam, Mr. Roland Busch said that Siemens is a leading German technology corporation, focusing on the fields of industry, infrastructure, transportation and healthcare. Having established a representative office in Vietnam since 1993, Siemens has been effectively cooperating with Vietnam in many fields, especially renewable energy and transportation.
Chairman and CEO Roland Busch said that Siemens wishes to expand cooperation, investment and business in Vietnam, especially in the fields of digital transformation; green transformation; electric car manufacturing; infrastructure for national data centers; development of urban railways, high-speed railways, etc.
Appreciating and congratulating Siemens' business performance in general and in Vietnam in particular, especially projects in the fields of high technology, electricity - gas, mechanical engineering, energy infrastructure development and industrial automation, railways, healthcare, digital transformation, renewable energy, etc., Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked Siemens to study technology transfer, promote innovation in Vietnam; support Vietnam in training high-quality human resources; provide financial support, transfer management science; build and perfect institutions in line with development trends in the world and in line with the context of Vietnam.
Considering that digital transformation and green transformation are trends and global issues, the Prime Minister hopes that Siemens will transfer technology to develop the renewable energy industry to Vietnam; develop production and expand the electric car market; cooperate and support Vietnam in digital transformation in all areas of social life, especially in areas where Siemens has strengths; and hope that Siemens will build a research and development center in Vietnam.
In addition, the Prime Minister proposed that Siemens cooperate, transfer technology, management science, train human resources, and provide capital support... so that Vietnam can develop its railway system, including urban railways and high-speed railways, in the spirit of "harmonious benefits and shared risks".
Agreeing with the opinions of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman and CEO of Siemens Group said that in the coming time, Siemens will continue to support Vietnam in human resource training; support Vietnamese enterprises to reach out to the world... In particular, it will work with ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam to have specific projects to realize the Prime Minister's proposals.
