In early November, the main road leading to the Cultural - Sports Center of Quang Ruc village, Hong Phong commune (Ninh Giang) was bright red with flags and flowers. The bustling atmosphere of the National Great Unity Day spread throughout the streets of the village and hamlet.

Despite her old age and poor health, Mrs. Dinh Thi Be (87 years old) still attended the happy day of the villagers, because for her this was a big festival. Mrs. Be shared: “I attend the Great Unity Festival every year, but this year there was more joy. The degraded village cultural house was replaced by the most spacious and modern Cultural - Sports Center in the commune. Previously, the cultural, physical education and sports activities of the villagers were somewhat limited. The newly built, large and beautiful cultural house will be a place for exchange and connection between the villagers.”

Quang Ruc Village Cultural - Sports Center is a project that demonstrates the sharing for the community of the son of the homeland. The project has a total value of 5 billion VND, fully sponsored by Mr. Bui Trong Tan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of KLB Investment Group Joint Stock Company, who is also a son of Quang Ruc village. In addition, Mr. Tan also sponsored many other projects such as building a commune health station, building roads, renovating Quang Ruc village pagoda, planting trees... with a total value of over 20 billion VND.

“Leaving my hometown to start a career early, like many other people far from home, whether near or far, when hearing the two words “homeland”, I feel sacred and precious. Therefore, when I am successful, the first thing I want to do is to “repay” this land, helping people in difficult circumstances. What I want most is to see my hometown develop more and more,” said Mr. Bui Trong Tan.

Mr. Dao Huy Du, Party Cell Secretary and Head of Quang Ruc Village, said that the village's cadres and Front Committee, along with other organizations, always maintain contact with the people of the homeland who are working and living all over the country and abroad. They always turn to their homeland with practical actions, joining hands to contribute to the construction of their homeland. "Thanks to the sharing of the people of the homeland and the spirit of solidarity of the people, Quang Ruc Village can develop as it is today," said Mr. Du.

Unite to develop

Quang Ruc village has 765 households with 2,755 people. The village is located far from the district center, bordering Quynh Phu district (Thai Binh), the economy mainly depends on agriculture. In recent years, cadres and people in the village have united to help each other develop the economy. Under the guidance of organizations, people in the village have boldly transformed the structure of crops and livestock. Proactively applying technical advances, bringing high-value plant and animal varieties into production. Promoting the development of small-scale industry and services, developing garden economy and farm economy.

The government and organizations create favorable conditions for members to borrow capital to develop production and business. The appearance of Quang Ruc village has changed significantly. The small and narrow village roads and alleys have been replaced by concrete roads, making it easier for people to travel. Spacious and beautiful high-rise buildings have replaced the dilapidated level 4 houses. From a poor village, the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved. The village has more than 100 rich households and more than 300 well-off households. Currently, the rate of poor households has decreased to 1.4%; near-poor households has decreased to 1.56%.

The village has 5 art troupes, 3 volleyball teams, 1 soccer team and 1 health club attracting nearly 200 members. Cultural, artistic, physical and sports activities are maintained regularly. 21 clans in the village have a Scholarship Fund with a total fund of over 200 million VND. Every year, the clans organize awards for students with good academic achievements. Village roads and alleys are regularly swept to ensure they are green, clean and beautiful.

Mr. Dang Huy Hien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Phong Commune, said that from campaigns, emulation movements to economic development, environmental protection, cultural and artistic activities... the people of Quang Ruc village have shown a high sense of responsibility towards the community. The average income per capita in the village has increased gradually every year, in 2024 it is estimated to reach about 74 million VND/person, about 1 million VND/person higher than the remaining villages. The people in the village are united and have become a bright spot in the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".
