Young man jailed for transporting firecrackers for hire

On the morning of February 5, the People's Court of Cam Giang district (Hai Duong) held a mobile first-instance trial of Can Viet Anh (born in 2001, residing in Lai Thuong commune, Thach That district, Hanoi) for the crime of transporting prohibited goods.

The mobile court was held at the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Cam Giang district.

According to the indictment, at around 12:00 on January 17, Viet Anh rode a motorbike from Dong Lac commune (Nam Sach) to Cam Dong commune (Cam Giang) to illegally transport 32 firecrackers weighing 8.95 kg for a man (identity and background unknown), to receive a salary of 400,000 VND (Viet Anh has not yet received the above salary). When Viet Anh reached the road to Chua village, Cam Dong commune (Cam Giang), he was discovered and caught red-handed by Cam Dong commune police, who confiscated the evidence.

Many students of the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Cam Giang district followed the trial.

The jury sentenced Can Viet Anh to 9 months in prison for transporting prohibited goods.
