Stimulate consumption

This year, lychee output is estimated at about 20,000 tons, down 50% compared to last year's crop, so the number of vehicles expected to purchase is not much. Route 390 from Hop Thanh Bridge to Quang Thanh Bridge passing through Thanh Ha District is under construction. During the lychee harvest season, transportation will encounter many difficulties. Therefore, the four communes of Thanh Xa, Thanh Thuy, Thanh Quang, Thanh Cuong have proactively prepared a parking lot each for traders to purchase, instead of placing purchasing points along the road like every year to limit traffic congestion.

The district's Economic and Infrastructure Department has printed 1,000 invitations, 1,000 leaflets and 20,000 traceability stamps for lychees. The lychee garden opening ceremony will be held by the district in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in early June. Mr. Tran Van Tam, Head of the Economic and Infrastructure Department of Thanh Ha district, said that this year, cooperatives with lychees in Thanh Ha continue to sign contracts with businesses, ensuring stable consumption.

Thanh Ha's strength is early lychee, so this year the locality has proactively coordinated with many news agencies and newspapers to promote the characteristics and outstanding advantages of this type of lychee.

Early lychees sell well, bringing high income to people, so for many years now, the area of early lychees has been expanded compared to the main crop lychees. Thanh Ha early lychees are also grown and cared for in accordance with VietGAP and GlobalGAP processes, meeting export requirements well.

On May 9, Thanh Ha district coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade, the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) to organize a conference to promote the consumption of Thanh Ha lychee and Hai Duong agricultural products with the Vietnam Trade Office system and foreign purchasing enterprises. The conference was organized in a direct and online format with nearly 50 connecting points. To prepare for this important conference, Thanh Ha district has many booths introducing agricultural products, of which fresh lychee and dried lychee are the main typical products. In addition, honey, tapioca starch and many other OCOP products were also displayed at the conference. This year, with the coordination of the industry and trade sector, representatives of many e-commerce platforms such as: Sendo, Postmart, Icheck JSC... were also present at the conference to directly discuss methods of consumption, preliminary processing, preservation and transportation of lychee.

Lychee is one of the eight key agricultural products of Hai Duong province, produced on a large scale and with high quality. Thanh Ha lychee is grown according to VietGAP standards, meeting strict food safety standards. For many years, Thanh Ha lychee (including early and main crop lychee) has been exported stably to many large, demanding markets such as Japan, France, the US, Korea, Belgium, the Netherlands, Singapore, etc.

In addition to improving quality, Thanh Ha district has actively promoted and advertised products in many forms, focusing on applying digital technology to promotion. Information related to lychee is compiled, QR codes are created and placed at conferences, production sites according to VietGAP, GobalGAP standards, lychee tree conservation areas and many other local eco-tourism sites. The district's unions have proactively organized training for members on digital transformation, proficient application of software, Facebook, Zalo... to exchange information. Members are responsible for spreading and promoting the image of lychee to friends at home and abroad. Along with that, the district's information page and fanpages also actively promote the care, promotion and consumption of lychee...

Thanh Ha district currently has about 500 hectares of lychee recognized as meeting GAP standards, of which 450 hectares are VietGAP lychee and 50 hectares are meeting GlobalGAP standards.
