Japanese automaker Nissan said on December 6 that its operations in Australia and New Zealand had been affected by a hacker attack.
Nissan notified the cybersecurity centers of the two countries immediately after the incident, while the company's global response team assessed the extent of the attack. It is not yet clear whether the hackers accessed customers' personal data. Nissan clarified that the cyberattack did not affect the company's dealer network.
Nissan recommends that customers remain vigilant and take precautions to protect their accounts against any unusual or fraudulent activity while the incident is being investigated. Nissan teams are working to restore the system.
