Bayern Munich entered the match against Celtic on the evening of February 18 with a 2-1 advantage in the first leg. However, with UEFA abolishing the away goals rule, Bayern were determined to win at home to get a ticket to the next round in the official match time. Immediately after the opening whistle, the German team quickly overwhelmed Celtic with dangerous attacks.

Bayern strikers Harry Kane, Serge Gnabry and Michael Olise all had chances to open the scoring, but goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel had an excellent day, constantly frustrating his opponents.

Despite being pushed to the back, Celtic also had their own chances. They had several notable counter-attacks but, like their Bayern counterparts, Callum McGregor and Daizen Maeda were unable to capitalize.

In the 63rd minute, after a series of mistakes from Bayern's defense, midfielder Nicolas-Gerrit Kuhn of Celtic finished accurately, putting Celtic ahead 1-0, thereby equalizing the total score after two matches (2-2).

After conceding the goal, Bayern were forced to push forward in search of an equalizer. Michael Olise, Leroy Sane, Joshua Kimmich and Kingsley Coman tried their luck but the goal still eluded them.

It seemed like the match would drag on longer, but Alphonso Davies, who came off the bench, shone, leveling the score at 1-1 for Bayern. In the end, Bayern beat Celtic 3-2 on aggregate after two matches, thereby winning a ticket to the round of 16.
