Suzuki Jimny first price reduction of 60 - 80 million VND

Suzuki's passenger car product portfolio in Vietnam currently has only two models: XL7 and Jimny. XL7 is considered the company's main sales model, while Jimny is more selective. In February, Suzuki Jimny received a 50% discount on registration fees and a cash bonus of VND20 million from the Japanese company, equivalent to about VND60 million.

At the dealership, to quickly push the goods and meet the capital turnover requirements, Suzuki Jimny is being promoted with an additional discount of about 15-20 million VND. That means the total discount is up to 80 million VND. This is the first time Jimny has been discounted so much. The car is currently sold in two versions: one-tone priced at 789 million VND and two-tone priced at 799 million VND.

According to the sales manager of a Suzuki showroom in Ho Chi Minh City, all the cars included in the promotion are from the 2024 production model. There are currently no 2025 Jimny cars.

The selling price of the Suzuki Jimny changes constantly. When it was first launched, taking advantage of the model's appeal and limited supply, dealers sold it for 50 - 70 million VND. Then, when the "fever" passed, the price returned to the suggested level and then dropped by 30 - 40 million VND. Up to now, the discount has doubled.

Jimny imported from Japan, with a picky appearance, only attracts a small group of customers with personality who like the boxy design and off-road capabilities of the car. In January, Jimny sold 16 units, among the 10 models that sold the least in Vietnam.

Jimny is equipped with a 1.5 engine with a capacity of 102 horsepower, maximum torque of 130 Nm, 4-speed automatic transmission, 2-wheel drive. The driver can adjust the driving mode as fast single-wheel drive (2H), fast two-wheel drive (4H), slow two-wheel drive (4L) through an auxiliary lever located next to the main gear lever.

Jimny's safety features are basic, such as ABS brakes, ESP electronic balance, TCS traction control, hill descent control, cruise control, 6 airbags, rear camera and rear sensors.

Jimny has no direct competitors in terms of design, size and functionality. With a price range of nearly 800 million VND, users can buy C-size crossover models such as Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson or B+/C- like Toyota Corolla Cross.
