Scattered pests on vegetables

According to the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Hai Duong, diseases such as flea beetles, green worms, root rot, leaf blight, leaf spot, soft rot, and stem rot continue to cause local damage to vegetables.

According to the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, many types of pests such as flea beetles, green worms, fall armyworms, root rot, leaf blight, soft rot, powdery mildew, downy mildew, whiteflies, thrips, etc. are currently causing scattered damage to many types of vegetables. Mealybugs appear and cause scattered damage to lychees, etc. It is forecasted that by February 8, rats will continue to cause scattered damage to winter vegetables and newly planted rice seedlings and rice fields.

The Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection requested the Agricultural Service Centers to guide localities in killing rats. In lychee areas, continue to monitor downy mildew and inchworms to guide farmers in timely prevention and control. Strengthen integrated pest control measures on vegetables.

By February 2, the whole province had planted about 300 hectares of early spring rice and about 2,000 hectares of spring vegetables. Lychee trees are differentiating flower buds and flowering, and a few early areas have already bloomed.
