After 4 years of hiatus, the Golden Rice Volleyball Tournament of Hai Duong province returns

On the morning of November 23, at the Provincial Sports Stadium, the Farmers' Association and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism jointly organized the 13th Hai Duong Province "Golden Rice Volleyball Tournament" - Agribank Cup 2024.

Comrade Nguyen Khac Toan, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches and sectors attended.

This year's tournament has 148 athletes and coaches from 12 Farmers' Association teams from districts, cities and towns. The teams are divided into 4 groups, each group has 3 teams competing in a round robin to select the winning team from each group to compete in the semi-finals and finals.

The tournament will take place over 4 days, ending on November 26.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the match between Tu Ky District Farmers' Association and Chi Linh City Farmers' Association took place. Chi Linh City Farmers' Association won first prize three times in a row in 2015, 2017 and 2019.

This is an emulation activity to achieve achievements to celebrate the country's major holidays, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

Through this activity, we aim to promote and mobilize members and farmers to actively participate in practicing and competing in sports in general and volleyball in particular.

The “Golden Rice” volleyball tournament is held every two years. However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2022 tournament had to be postponed.
