The National Assembly discussed the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and the Law on People's Air Defense.

Continuing the second phase of the 7th Session, today, June 19, the National Assembly will discuss important draft laws such as: Law on Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue; Law on People's Air Defense and investment policy for the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the period 2025 - 2035.

The National Assembly will also focus on discussing the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Land Law No. 31/2024/QH15, the Housing Law No. 27/2023/QH15, the Real Estate Business Law No. 29/2023/QH15, and the Credit Institutions Law No. 32/2024/QH15. These are laws expected to be considered and passed by the National Assembly (taking effect earlier from August 1, 2024 instead of the original effect of January 1, 2025) at the second phase of this 7th Session according to the shortened procedures.

According to the program, in this morning's session, the National Assembly will listen to the Minister of Public Security, authorized by the Prime Minister, present the Report on the draft Law on Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue.

After that, the Chairman of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee will present a review report on the above draft law.

Speaking to reporters, many National Assembly deputies emphasized that fire prevention, fire fighting, and rescue are draft laws that voters and people across the country are particularly interested in; especially in the context of many fires causing serious consequences, not only property damage but also consecutive deaths, occurring in Hanoi in recent times.

Next, the National Assembly will hear the Minister of National Defense, authorized by the Prime Minister, present the Report on the draft Law on People's Air Defense. Immediately after that, the Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense and Security will present a report on the review of this draft law.

During the remaining time of the morning, the National Assembly will discuss in the hall the investment policy of the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the period 2025 - 2035. On that basis, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism will explain and clarify a number of issues raised by National Assembly deputies at the discussion session.

In the afternoon session, the National Assembly will listen to the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, authorized by the Prime Minister, present the Proposal on the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Land Law, Housing Law No. 1, Law on Real Estate Business, and Law on Credit Institutions, which were passed by the 15th National Assembly at the end of 2023 and at the extraordinary session in early 2024.

After that, the Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic Committee will present a report on the review of the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Land Law, Housing Law, Real Estate Business Law and the Law on Credit Institutions mentioned above.

During the remaining time of the afternoon, the National Assembly will discuss in groups the draft Law on Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue; and the Law on People's Air Defense.
