The Hezbollah movement has said it will not participate in negotiations while fighting is ongoing, and has demanded that Israel take responsibility for the safety of its detained Hezbollah members.
At a press conference in the southern suburbs of Beirut (Lebanon), Hezbollah's media chief Mohammad Afif admitted that the group had carried out the attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home. Israel said that an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) targeted Netanyahu's residence on October 19. Although the Israeli Prime Minister was absent at the time of the attack, he accused Hezbollah of plotting to assassinate him and called it a "grave mistake".
Meanwhile, Israel urged residents in a southern suburb of Beirut to evacuate ahead of a military operation targeting Hezbollah positions in the area.
On social network X, military spokesman Avichay Adraee published a map showing the two buildings that would be targeted, calling on residents there and in the surrounding area to immediately move at least 500 meters away.
On the same day, Houthi forces in Yemen announced that they had launched ballistic missiles targeting an Israeli military base to express solidarity with the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.
